Gordon has over 35 years experience in the development of contact lens products and processes. Having joined Pilkington Barnes-Hind’s R&D team in 1989. Holding patents in mould design and insert tooling technology. Ran Wesley Jessen’s UK Pilot Line from inception in 1995 to 2000. CIBA Vision Project Manager in Asia/US transfers to 2002. Sold start-up company Concavex to Sauflon end 2002. Sauflon’s Engineering Director through start-ups of UK & Hungary factories. Formed CL Tech in 2007.
FERRY WIDJAJA
Director, UK based
Ferry joined CIBA Vision Batam in 1996 as Production Eng. Transferring technology between Europe, USA & Asia. Dailies & Silicone Hydrogel process development. In 2006 moved to UK to Sauflon CL for Clariti silicone hydrogel development. In 2008 moved to MJS Lens Technology Ltd as a project manager. In 2013 set up and now runs CL Tech’s UK operation.
Benny Widjaja
Development Manager, UK based
Benny is responsible for organising the trial activity in CL Tech’s UK R&D facility. Experienced building contact lens production lines for 15 years. Expertise in Machine design, Automation, PLC and Robotics. Contact lens and optical tooling design and machinery development with CL Tech starting 2008.

Ph. D. Biology, Italy. Previously QA Manager Schalcon Italy for Contact Lens and Solution Manufacturing. Technical File Author / TUV CE Auditor / Regulatory & Clinical Affairs specialist. With CL Tech since 2015.

Injection Moulding Specialist, UK based
Worked in the original 1980’s Coopervision cast moulding development team. Pilot Line Leader for Wesley Jessen and Ocular Sciences through 1990’s. Sauflon CL process development engineer 2002 to 2008. MJS Lens Technology Moulding Engineer up to 2012, then joined CL Tech.

40 years experience in the contact lens industry with CooperVision, Pilkington Barnes-Hind, Wesley Jessen, CIBA Vision, Sauflon. Insert tooling, contact lens and machine designs. New machine and process development.

QA Technician, UK based
25+ years experience in lens production and quality. MJS, Essilor, Ocular Sciences, Visaq and Mark’Ennovy. Joined CL Tech in 2022.
Michael Jonathan
Development Engineer, UK based
Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering with a specialisation in Mechatronics. Supports the end-to-end development of contact lenses and optical tooling, from design to manufacturing and quality inspection. Joined CL Tech UK in 2025.

30 years with HOYA and EyeCity. Strong knowledge of the contact lens market and the significant companies in it. With CL Tech since 2016

Joined CL Tech in 2014. B.Sc. Biological Systems Engineering, USA. Contact lens and optical tooling insert design and manufacture. Process development in filling/ delensing /blister packaging and cartoning machinery.

Dr. John Mulvihill

John holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from UCD and a MBA. 35 years experience in the contact lens industry. Worked for Wesley Jessen Alcon in Chicago. Expertise in Ink preparation for, and in printing cosmetic contact lenses.
